This statement is published voluntarily by Sky Electrical Ltd. Our annual turnover is below the £36 million threshold at which the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires a mandatory annual statement under Section 54. We publish this statement because transparency about our employment practices and supply chain reflects our values, and because our commercial clients increasingly expect it as part of responsible procurement. This statement covers the financial year 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026 and has been approved by the director of Sky Electrical Ltd.

2. Our Approach and Standards
Sky Electrical does not tolerate modern slavery, forced labour, or human trafficking within our business or supply chains. We take a risk-based approach to our obligations.
We consider the risk of modern slavery occurring in our business to be low: all staff are directly employed on written contracts, we operate exclusively in the UK, and our supply chains consist primarily of UK-registered electrical wholesalers subject to the same employment law as Sky Electrical.
Nonetheless, we are committed to continuous improvement of our processes in this area.
3. Policies and Standards
Sky Electrical operates the following internal policies relevant to modern slavery and ethical employment:
Code of Conduct
Our Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected of all employees. It emphasises integrity, respect for others, compliance with the law, and the obligation to speak up when concerns arise. All employees acknowledge the Code on joining the business.
Whistleblowing Policy
We foster an environment in which employees are encouraged to report concerns about actual or suspected misconduct or exploitation; including potential indicators of modern slavery. Reports can be made to a director or via the independent Modern Slavery Helpline (0800 0121 700, freephone, 24/7). No employee who raises a genuine concern in good faith will face retaliation.
Recruitment and Right to Work Policy
All candidates undergo identity verification and right-to-work checks before their start date, in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. No worker is charged a fee for employment, tools, equipment, or training provided by Sky Electrical.
Equal Opportunities Policy
We are committed to fair, non-discriminatory hiring and employment practices. All employees receive equal treatment regardless of background, nationality, or personal characteristics.
Supplier Code of Conduct
We expect all suppliers to comply with applicable laws on employment, health and safety, and human rights. Where a supplier cannot demonstrate compliance, we will review the relationship.
4. Supply Chains
Our supply chains are straightforward and predominantly domestic. We purchase electrical materials, equipment, and consumables from UK-based electrical wholesalers and manufacturers’ distributors.
We do not import goods directly from overseas manufacturers. We have assessed our supply chain as presenting a low risk of modern slavery for the following reasons:
- All principal suppliers are UK-registered businesses operating under UK employment law.
- We purchase finished goods and materials; not labour-intensive raw commodities from high-risk regions.
- Our supply chain is short, with no complex tiers of sub-suppliers.
- Our spend is concentrated with a small number of well-established national distributors.
5. Procurement
When onboarding a new supplier, we confirm they are a UK-registered business and, where applicable, review their published modern slavery statement. We require all suppliers to confirm their compliance with applicable employment laws as a condition of their relationship with Sky Electrical. We review our procurement processes on an ongoing basis to ensure our due diligence remains fit for purpose.
6. Recruitment
Sky Electrical is an equal opportunities employer. We carry out right-to-work checks and identity verification for all new employees before they begin work.
All electricians and operational staff are paid at or above the National Living Wage, processed through PAYE payroll, and receive payslips, holiday pay, statutory pension contributions, and the full employment rights required by UK law.
We do not use labour hire agencies, gangmasters, zero-hours contracts, or subcontractors for the delivery of our electrical services. This direct employment model eliminates a significant category of modern slavery risk that is common in the construction and trades sector.
7. Governance
The director of Sky Electrical Ltd reviews and approves this statement annually. Responsibility for our modern slavery obligations sits at director level, ensuring that concerns raised are acted upon promptly and effectively.
8. Training
Our management team is aware of the indicators of modern slavery and the correct reporting process; including signs such as workers who appear controlled by a third party, cannot speak freely, lack access to their own identity documents, or show signs of physical abuse.
These indicators are covered in our induction materials for all new employees. We are committed to developing our training programme in line with best practice and government guidance.
9. Compliance and Monitoring
We measure the effectiveness of our approach by tracking: 100% completion of right-to-work checks for all new employees; zero use of labour-supply agencies or zero-hours contracts; annual director review of this statement; and no reported concerns or incidents relating to modern slavery.
In the event that a concern is identified, Sky Electrical will act immediately to address it, report to the relevant authorities, and review our processes to prevent recurrence.
