What Bespoke Means in Practice

Some projects need more than a standard fit. A new-build penthouse in Chelsea. A converted Victorian warehouse in Bermondsey. A design studio in Shoreditch where every cable must be invisible. These projects need an electrician who thinks alongside the designer, not one who just follows a plan.

Sky Electrical has been delivering bespoke electrical installations since 1958. With over 500k+ projects completed, we are the first choice for architects, interior designers and property developers who need precision electrical work. Bespoke means your vision, not our standard template:

  • Hidden wiring routed through plaster, timber joists or structural concrete with no visible surface trunking
  • Consumer unit and distribution board locations agreed with the designer before first fix begins
  • Lighting circuits specified around particular fittings, dimming requirements and lux levels
  • Integrated AV, data and lighting control on a single co-ordinated system
  • Accessories in copper, brushed steel, antique bronze or custom painted finishes to match the interior scheme
  • Flush floor boxes, pop-up sockets and concealed USB and wireless charging points
  • Full programme co-ordination with joiners, plasterers, AV installers and specialist subcontractors

Projects We Take On

Architect-Designed New Builds

We engage at design stage – not after the structure is built. Working from architectural drawings, we plan cable routes, avoid structural clashes and provide electrical drawings for the design team. We work within BIM models on larger projects. Early involvement prevents costly redesigns and ensures the electrical system genuinely supports the architecture.

Heritage and Listed Buildings

Grade I and Grade II listed buildings require special care. We install modern electrical systems without damaging historic fabric, using reversible methods that meet conservation officer requirements and Heritage England guidance. We have experience obtaining listed building consent where electrical works require approval.

Creative Studios and Showrooms

Design studios, galleries, furniture showrooms and creative offices need lighting that enhances the work – without the system being visible. We install track systems, recessed circuits, gallery-standard downlights and flexible power layouts with all wiring fully concealed within the building fabric.

Premium Hospitality Fit-Outs

Members’ clubs, boutique hotels and premium restaurants need electrical infrastructure that performs flawlessly and remains invisible. We work within tight fit-out programmes and co-ordinate with interior designers, kitchen designers and AV contractors from the start.

For Architects and Interior Designers

We know how design teams work. We read GA and detailed drawings, attend site meetings, issue RFIs promptly and flag co-ordination issues before they become programme problems. Our engineers protect finished surfaces and work professionally in occupied or sensitive environments.

We offer a design-and-build service for electrical works on architect-led projects, including AutoCAD electrical drawings, specification documents and BIM co-ordination. We are happy to meet, review your project and provide a no-obligation proposal.

Standards and Certification

Every bespoke installation is designed to BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition) incorporating the A2:2022 amendments. Sky Electrical is NICEIC approved and has held full public and employer liability insurance since 1958. On completion, you receive an Electrical Installation Certificate and full test records – suitable for building warranties and insurance requirements.
